About this event
Buying a small business can be one of the most rewarding paths to business ownership—but knowing what to look for and what to avoid is critical. This workshop provides a practical overview of the key steps involved in finding, evaluating, negotiating, and successfully acquiring a small business. We’ll cover: Who should consider buying a business — understanding the skills, goals, and mindset that make for a successful owner. How to find the right business — where to look and how to identify promising opportunities. What to look for — evaluating a business’s financials, operations, customers, and potential risks. Determining the right price — understanding valuation and what a business is really worth. Negotiating tactics that work — strategies for creating a favorable deal while maintaining a strong relationship with the seller. Due diligence — uncovering potential problems before you commit. Market trends — understanding current conditions and how they can affect your acquisition strategy. At every step, we’ll focus on the ultimate goal: making a smart, successful business purchase that creates long-term value for the owner.
