How to Pitch Like a Pro
from Score
About this event
In this workshop you will learn the few essential levers to make your pitch highly-effective. This workshop is not a "what you need to do" but "how to do it". The two most important aspects of a pitch is how to tell a story on a compelling problem and then wrap in your novel solution that eliminates this problem. Once you have that, the rest of the slides support this story including that you and your team can deliver on the novel solution, make a lot of money while doing it and most important make even more money for the investor. We will go over the expected '10-slide' structure of the slide deck and how to position it around your core story
About the Presenter: Abizar has judged and judges pitch competitions for schools in the Bay Area and in Seattle and supports VC's with tech evaluations in teh life sciences to help them judge the likelihood that the technology will become a successful product. He also supports multiple start-up teams at local incubators and accelerators where he hopes to find that hot company that will make him some money as a small check investor. He has figured out two magic ingredients to a successful pitch; (1) Investors need hot startups to run their business despite their pretend reluctance to engage with startups and (2) Founders who genuinely believes they can change the world but more importantly convince others that they can - end up getting the big checks.
Abizar was planning on retiring after an exit in 2023 but is back doing another start-up which he loves and hates at the same time.
