Online: Potential Federal Grantmaking Updates (OMB Guidance): A Conversation with Nonprofit Leaders

On May 29, 2026, OMB proposed sweeping changes to overhaul the Uniform Guidance. If implemented the proposal would create significant risk and instability for federal grantees, including nonprofits, making it more difficult to provide vital services to communities.

Where We Stand

Nonprofits across Washington may be affected differently depending on their programs, funding sources, and relationships with federal, state, and local government. Organizations receiving federal funding directly, as well as those receiving federal funds through state and local agencies or other pass-through entities, are assessing what the proposed changes could mean for their funding, programs, compliance obligations, and communities.
